I picked up ceramics in 2021 and haven’t been able to put it down since. Originally from the Chicago suburbs, I hold a BFA in Animation from Ball State University and spent the past decade working as an illustrator in the gaming industry. Inspired by the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest, my ceramic work reflects my illustrative roots and love of adventure. As an avid rock climber and outdoor enthusiast, I draw creative energy from my physical connection to the world. I’ve discovered that I thrive in the supportive, collaborative environment of community studios, rather than creating art in front of a computer screen. The diversity of people and ideas I encounter fuels my creativity and deepens my connection to the medium. Driven by my profound connection to nature, movement, and community, my work is a reflection of my active engagement with the world around me. Teaching ceramics brings me immense joy, and I value patience, adaptability, and the acknowledgment of diverse approaches when working with my students.
